Align with the Energy for Creation

Written by MJ Ryan, SheEO Development Guide

This month at SheEO, we are focusing on our value of cocreation and in future blogs I’ll explore co-creating with others. Today, as we celebrate International Women’s Day and the SheEO Global Summit, I want to focus on a type of cocreation that might sound unbelievable—using the energetic forces for creation to bring into being what it is that we want.

I was working with a startup founder, let’s call her Tania, who was having trouble getting her organization funded. She was getting a lot of nos from investors and wanted to give up. But her startup was something the world desperately needs and that she had been passionate about it for years, so I said, “Just admit to yourself what you really want and you increase the chance of it occurring as long as you keep on wanting and exploring ways to make it happen.”

I asked her to suspend her disbelief and explained what I’ve learned about the physics of conscious creation from Robert Fritz as described in his book The Path of Least Resistance. “People tend to go into despair or give up when they become aware of the gap between what they want and where they are right now. But Fritz believes that space is a good thing. He calls it the tension for creation. According to the laws of physics, he says, energy wants to move along the path of least resistance to the more stable state to resolve the tension. And the more stable state is what you want, not where you are now. For if you want it badly enough, what you want never changes, while current reality, where you are right now, is always changing.”

“I do really want it. But how am I possibly going to make it happen?” Tania asked.

“I don’t know,” I replied. “But you don’t have to. In fact, you can’t possibly know in advance. You just take some actions, looking for the path of least resistance, and periodically evaluate whether you are getting closer.”

Tania had her doubts but because she trusted me, she was willing to try. We brainstormed actions, including where else she might get funding. A week later, I got an email: “Damn you,” she wrote, “it’s working!” Two years, two pivots and several funding sources later, her business is really taking off.

It may seem like magic, but I’ve seen this process work too many times now not to believe. Put out what you want, tell yourself the truth about where you are, and get into action. Life will more than likely come along to help close the gap.

So, if it’s that simple, how come all of us don’t get what we want all the time? One of the reasons, says Fritz, is that we don’t really want something enough or don’t believe we can make it happen. We get resigned in the gap between where we are and what we want.

Your wanting is what sets the energy of creation into motion, drawing you toward your heart’s desire. You have to really allow yourself to want and to believe the change you want is possible, even if you don’t know how. Fritz puts it this way: “If you limit your choices only to what seems possible or reasonable, you disconnect yourself from what you truly want, and all that is left is a compromise.” So don’t worry about how far you have to go—the force for creation is on your side.

More next week on how to this method for conscious creation. And you can join my breakout group on using your energy for creation at the SheEO Summit 2021 as part of our mindset.world series.
